INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES AT THE MODERN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: REALITIES AND PROSPECTS

Abstract
The actuality of the problem was substantiated by the usage of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the educational process at the elementary school. The intension of “information and communication technology”, “computer component oriented to educational technology”, “information and network culture”, components of the information and communication pedagogical environment are determined. It is emphasized on the problem of increasing the level of professional readiness of the teacher of primary school, including mastering of the basic ways of work on the Internet, understanding the mechanisms of global network services organization, possessing information about useful electronic resources of methodical direction, studying the best pedagogical experience of the use of ICT at primary schools etc. Training of primary school teachers to use information and communication technologies in the educational work with students is examined in a world view, meaningful, action and technological context. Basic directions of the use of ІСТ are distinguished at initial school: conducting lessons using computers; use of electronic train aid, (schoolbook)textbooks, interactive solving crosswords, rebuses, puzzles; realization of test computer control of educational achievements; use of computer didactics games, electronic resources etc. It was emphasized on the need to implement prevention activities in social communication, warning parents against the negative impact of the Internet on students.
