INNOVATIVE TEACHING IN CHEMISTRY: THE ROLE OF GAMIFICATION AND SIMULATIONS
Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
This study examines the integration of interactive simulations and gamification in chemistry teaching to improve student engagement, motivation, and creative thinking. Teachers often have trouble keeping students interested in science subjects when they use traditional lecture-based methods, so they have to try new ways to teach. Interactive simulations let students see and change chemical reactions in a safe virtual world, which helps them understand the ideas better. Gamification integrates game design elements, such as points, challenges, and rewards, to enhance engagement and interactivity in the learning process. The review highlights empirical investigations conducted between 2015 and 2025, which demonstrate significant improvements in student performance and information retention through various strategies. The study suggests that gamification and simulations enhance learning outcomes while promoting problem-solving and critical thinking skills, rendering chemistry instruction more effective and interesting
