INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROVISIONS IN INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT AGREEMENTS

Abstract
Abstract The purpose of this legal article is to examine the protection of intellectual property as an investment, which is rapidly developing in the modern world, and the norms established by international investment treaties in this field. It is known that legal relations on intellectual property have become more important due to the rapid development of industry and technology, and such a positive change is reflected in the text of multilateral and bilateral investment agreements. It is imperative to carry out investigations and new proposals in this field. This article talks about the ways in which the important issues of intellectual property rights are reflected in investment agreements, and the incorporation of the standards set by the TRIPS agreement adopted by the WTO into international investment agreements. In particular, the issues of patent revocation, payment of compensations, compulsory licensing and parallel importation are addressed.
