Isolation of a fragment of the ACC Oxidase cDNA expressed during the ripening of the Guava Enana fruit
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2003, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Isolation and cloning of a cDNA fragment encoding ACC oxidase from ripe guava fruits by RT-PCR is shown in this report. It is the early step to apply RNA antisense technology for gene silence in order to control guava fruit ripening through genetic transformation. ACC oxidase cDNA fragment was isolated using Ready To GoTM RT-PCR Beads system and cloned into pGEMR- Teasy vector. Sequence analysis showed a high homology percent (84-94%) with other cDNA ACC oxidases reported in data base.
