«Just from native field a touching string / Only if gray straw of an ancestral roof…» (existential world space of lyric character in the poetry of Yevhen Мalaniuk)

Abstract

Despite the complex analysis of poetic, prose, literature and critic heritage of Yevhen Malaniuk the problem of determination of the poet’s creative activity has become recently urgent. Language and aesthetic representation of existential space in the poet’s creative activity has not been highlighted till nowadays which causes the topicality of the article. The aim is to learn existential world space of lyric character in the poetry of Y. Malaniuk. Poetic nomination of earth, field, meadow, pasture, road verbalize existential ideas about a person’s life destination, creative activity, realization of invalidness in social and political arrangement, totalitarian system, fatality, being forced to live outside the native country. All his life the poet “has been wandering in cold and alien countries”. The author’s negative evaluation of city as “alien” space is traced in the following epithet attributes black city, dead city, city is ugly. Domination of black color as existential feature of the city is seen in various contexts (evaluation according to color symbolism – black – death). Culturologically loaded spatial images of the village, the city object not only the nominations of rural and urban space but, above all, are the determinants of the opposition “native” – “alien” space. Implemented in such a way, the consideration of language creative activity of Y. Malaniuk reveals its time spatial marking and testifies to the inscription into the stylistic, linguistic and aesthetic system of Ukrainian poetry. The prospect of further scientific research of this problem is associated with a detailed study of the sociocultural content of poetry works of the late XX – early XXI century in the direction of outlining the paradigm of traditional and individual-author's images, stylistic resources of the national poetic language.
