Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) Survey about Hydration in Pediatric Anesthesia Patients; Findings from a University Teaching Hospital

Abstract

Perioperative fluid management has changed considerably in the last few years in light of new evidence based medicine. In our institute unfortunately there is no guideline at the time of this study, which would mandate intravenous hydration in a particular direction. Likewise nationally in Pakistan, there is no guideline which would direct anesthetists or pediatricians about intravenous perioperative hydration. Absence of guidelines prompted to the need for finding out the prevalent practice. Rationale
