Le problème de la traduction des locutions argotiques caractérologiques françaises en russe

Abstract
Nowadays the French argotic phraseological units are a constant source of enrichment of the common language and they participate in the development and renewal of French language. One of the main functions of the argotic phraseological units becomes the characterization of persons (“characterological function”). The French characterological argotic phraseological units form a particular thematic system and cover predominantly the following: “appearance”, “intellectual peculiarities”, “emotional and psychological state”, “social standing”, “features of character”, “physical and physiological state”. This paper will examine the problem of the translation of French characterological argotic phraseological units into Russian in the context of the thematic group “appearance”. The units which form this group are distinguished by the language specific connotations, colorations, meaning gradations, figurative base, etc., which make them difficult to translate.
