Lean Management – a Modern Method of Managing a Production System

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present the concept of Lean Management (LM) and the main assumptions of this system. Lean Management as a business management concept has its roots in the Toyota Production System. On the basis of a literature review, the author presents selected LM techniques used in various sectors of the economy. These LM tools can be used not only to increase the degree of goal achievement and task completion in the enterprise but can also contribute to improving the organization’s overall effectiveness through participation and partnership.
