Losy dokumentów i pozostałość dyplomatyczna klasztoru cysterek w Trzebnicy

Abstract
In 1810 the Cistercian Monastery in Trzebnica was secularized. Its archival resources were moved to the newly created Provincial Archive in Wroclaw, where all the transferred documents, preparations and inventories – repertoria were counted. Until the end of World War II the post – monastic archive held 1092 documents. As a result of the war and subsequent evacuation of the archive significant losses in Trzebnica resource were endured. At the moment we have 549 documents of the former Cistercian Monastery archive, which makes over 50% of the former resource. Thanks to the recovery of the former resource Staats Archiv zu Breslau from the German Democratic Republic in 1981, as many as 125 documents from the 13th century were retrieved. Currently the most serious loss is the lack of documents from years 1401-1504, in the number of 355 units. The most important surviving documents are the founding documents of 1202-1203, the property of Prince Henry the Bearded and his wife Hedwig, as well as documents relating to her – the act of giving the village of Zawonia to the monastery, with its preserved seals and the document of Saint Hedwig’s canonization. The most valuable among the saved documents are those belonging to the Silesian Dukes as well as the documents of the ecclesiastical and private issuers for the monastery.
