MANAGEMENT CONTROL AS A MANAGEMENT TOOL IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Abstract
The society expects public administration to take example from entities operating in the private sphere and to work efficiently, effectively, and public services provided by it ought to be characterized by high quality. Meeting such specified requirements requires from administration also continuous improvement of the management manner of its units. One result of these actions is for example the introduction of the obligation of the management control effectuation. Its identification exclusive to such actions as checking, verification and comparison would be erroneous. Management control is primarily to lead to a situation in which public finance unit will not be focused in its activities on the collection and expenditure of funds, but more on making versatile management decisions by its management focused on the realisation of goals and tasks.
