Monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the regional anti-HIV/AIDS control program in the region

Abstract
Objective — to assess the effectiveness of the work done by medical institutions in the Kirovograd oblast in 2017 on combating HIV/AIDS. Comparative performance with similar data for the last 10 years. Materials and methods. The statistical data of health facilities in Kirovograd region for 2017 are analyzed and a comparative characteristic with similar data for the last 10 years has been conducted. Results and discussion. Since the registration of HIV in the Kirovograd region, as of 01.01.2018, 9.640 cases have been registered, and the rate of infiltration per 100,000 population was 990.2. According to sero-epidemiological monitoring of HIV prevalence in the oblast for 2017, 53.419 people were screened for HIV infection, compared with 41.864 for 2016. The number of HIV-positive results for 2017 is almost the same as for 2016. Conclusions. The regional HIV/AIDS response program in Kirovohrad Oblast has allowed to increase the percentage of detection, registration of HIV-infected patients and the timely use of ART therapies to avoid complications of AIDS.
