MYTHOLOGISM IN THE SONNET BY JOHN MILTON «ON HIS DECEASED WIFE» AND THE POEM BY VIRA VOVK «ALCESTIS»: ATTEMPT OF COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract
The common features in the sonnet by John Milton dedicated his dead wife, and the poem by the Ukrainian writer in Brazil Vira Vovk “Alcestis”, were investigated. The both poetical texts are united because of the eternal character of the ancient mythology who is Alcestis. The research uses biographical, comparative, Jungian methods, as well as the method of thesaurus analysis which is lighted up. The aim is the achieving of objectivity. The image of Alcestis is analyzed in the intermediate aspect. The aspect of translation studies is emphasized.
