STABILITY AND KINETIC STUDIES ON THE REMOVAL OF DIRECT YELLOW 28 FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION BY BALSAMODENDRONCAUDATUM WOOD WASTE ACTIVATED CARBON MATERIAL
Journal Title: Asian J of Pharm Sci & Tech - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
ABSTRACT Balsamodendron caudatum wood waste activated carbon material (BACM ) was treated using phosporic acid to develop adsorption capability for the removal of Direct Yellow 28( C.I. No 19555) from aqueous solution. . The treated (BACM) using phosporic acid was evaluated all the way through SEM and XRD. Present study deals with the use of BACM waste as adsorbent for the removal of Direct Yellow 28 dye from its aqueous solutions. The investigation indicates that adsorption is influenced by initial dye concentration, dye solution pH and adsorption temperature have been investigated in the present study. A Kinetic study of dye followed the pseudo-first-order, pseudo second-order and Elovich models respectively. Results show that the pseudo first order kinetic model was established to correlate the experimental records well. Key words: BACM, Adsorption, Direct Yellow 28, Kinetics, Isotherm, Low-cost adsorbents, Aqueous solution.
