The direction and range of changes on the Polish labor market , on the example of the biotechnology field – prospects and employability

Abstract
Labor market is one of the most important and basic elements of economy. The labor market is the place in which the employees, offering yours work, meet with the employers who need workers to produce goods and services. So, the labor market is the market mechanisms which regulates the size of the supply and demand of the labor. It should be highlighted that on the labor market involve macroeconomic conditions. Despite the many of the positive changes, the Polish labor market is still characterized by high rate of unemployment and low level of employment and economy activity. When we mention of the labor market we should also highlighted that the demand for works is not treated in the same way as the demand for goods and services, because the demand for works is connected with the demand for goods and services. It should highlighted that in modern economy any form of technological change resulting in a direct way to the demand for labor. The most contrasting changes are related to the demand for the work connected with represented qualifications. In the fast developing economics we can see increasing of the demand for highly qualified personnel, who have adequate knowledge to need for current economy. Biotechnology is developing and perspective branch of economy. Abroad, main in U.S. biotechnologists are appreciated and well-paid group of workers. The main areas of employment are: food and pharmaceutical industry, medicine and agriculture. Biotechnologists also control the effects of drugs , they collaborate with genetics, oncologists; create and use diagnostic tests. In Poland we have small amount of biotechnology companies, therefore candidate must demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills.
