Abstract
Introduction:When taking a tour of the history of humanity we can see that there are many paradigms, but among those that have shaped Western thought we can place first the theological one that places religion as its central point for the conception of the human being. Objective:The objective of this work is to analyze the paradigms of the medical profession with emphasis on the branch of obstetrics Materials and methods:Research developed under the qualitative paradigm. It is a reflective review study based on own knowledge and experiences. Results:for analysis and interpretation it is imperative to recognize that paradigms are the guiding principle of knowledge and mental image of reality, based on a series of beliefs and vision of the world; between some key notions that generate and control thought, that is, an epistemic matrix that gives meaning to knowledge. Conclusion:Although it is true that in the area of obstetrics and gynecology, telemedicine became a developing market, widely accepted by millions of womenfor the self-management of processes linked to sexual health and reproductive health; with certain benefits such as the menstrual calendar, the registration of prenatal controls among others, although it has not been studied or systematized in depth, an important aspect due to the risks implicit in this technological phenomenon, which in certain circumstances has negative effects
