OBRAGES NOS SERTÕES DO PARANÁ: EXPLORAÇÃO, TRABALHO E FRONTEIRAS

Abstract
The follow text is the result of a study about the exploration of the Paraná hinterland (the Sertões) riches during the period of the República Velha of Brazil. At that time, was being a structured environment for exploration, production to the market platinum around the obrages. It covers the operation of these enterprises, with a focus toward the exploitation of labor and living conditions of workers. It is structured in three parts: the system obragero, work and living conditions and control strategies. We analyzed the narratives of travelers and research that have addressed these aspects of the operation of the hinterlands in the early decades of the twentieth century. These sources can be contextualized in the debates on the construction of Brazilian nationality in the context of border disputes between the nations of the Bacia do Prata, notably Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.
