Abstract
The article investigates the works of one extraordinary Ukrainian writer of the beginning of the twentieth century Agatangel Krymskiy namely “A strange adventure” and “Excerpts from the memoirs of the one old trespasser”. The oneiric state of the hero and the impact of sleep on the reality and himself are considered in the work “A strange adventure”. The mixing of these concepts leads to violations of the narrator’s subconscious and manifests itself in such a mental state like hysterics. The second writing being studied is a continuation of the first one, but the work “Excerpts from the memoirs of the one old trespasser” is complete sleep copying. The characteristic features of these writings are the conjunction of the reality and a dream, the illustration of the character’s life aspects in his memoirs with the help of a fragment of a sleep and quite real events, the perceptual disability of the time and the space by the narrator.
