Abstract
The article analyzes the notion of access to public information, which is managed by the police, clarifies the peculiarities of submission and consideration of the request for information on the activities of the police as a form of public control over its activities. In order to fulfill the tasks set within the article, the following tasks were solved: the notion of public information, the procedure and peculiarities of considering a public inquiry and providing information about the activities of the police, types of information about the activities of the police, which is not subject to disclosure and protection of restricted access information, is defined.
