ПЕРЕДУМОВИ УСПІШНОСТІ ФОРМУВАННЯ МІЖКУЛЬТУРНОЇ ІНШОМОВНОЇ КОМУНІКАТИВНОЇ КОМПЕТЕНТНОСТІ МАЙБУТНІХ УЧИТЕЛІВ НА ПРАКТИЧНИХ ЗАНЯТТЯХ З ІНОЗЕМНОЇ МОВИ

Abstract

The article deals with investigating the most efficient ways of pre-service teachers’ intercultural communicative competence (PTICC) development in the course of practical foreign language classes for the Bachelor’s Degree in a foreign languagehigher educational pedagogical institution. Identifying the given ways is aimed to encourage the increase in professional training level of a new generation of professionally competent foreign language teachers in compliance with the national educational reform. Consequently, the goal of the article lies in solving two interrelated tasks: 1) scrutinizing pre-requisites for successful development of professionally aimed PTICC of pre-service teachers during practical foreign language classes for gaining the first Bachelor’s Degree; 2) on the basis of this analysis introducing conceptually viable model of the specified competence development at the practical foreign language classes considering the key problems of intercultural foreign language education in Ukraine and through the perspective of rapidly changing European education space. In the light of the essence of the defined aspects of goal-setting, by its nature the aim for the development of professionally aimed PTICC of pre-service teachers during practical foreign language classes is three-fold. This means that it lies in solving three interrelated tasks: 1) to teach general academic foreign language as a means for intercultural communication taking into account European experience in this domain, which should be implemented in foreign language educational curricula and specified further on in educational syllabi; 2) to teach a foreign language and new culture as a subject matter for teaching others; 3) to teach a foreign language as the language for the future professional use in compliance with its following functions: a) serving as a tool for teaching others the given language, i.e. realizing the functions of authentic didactic language of a foreign language; b) being proficient in a foreign language as a means of professional communication in the current diverse multicultural educational environment.Thus, beginning with the first year the outlined tasks should be achieved with the help of carefully selected authentic texts as well as authentic foreign language provided in the textbook for teaching a foreign language. Also, it presupposes the organization of practical classes with the use of specially prepared pedagogical problem tasks or educational-professional tasks, which can be solved within the framework of specially created didactic-methodological situations. The efficiency of the authors’ model of organizing intermediate professionalmethodological training in the course of practical foreign language classes has been validated by the positive results of the co-authors’ research work.
