Perspectives Based on American Experience of Using Innovative Ideas in Training Commercial Pilots

Abstract

This article is devoted to the results of the comparative analysis of pilot training in Ukraine and the USA. We believe it is necessary to combine the best traditions of Ukrainian schools and American innovative ideas for reforming national higher education. We explored the choice of training forms and methods, development of guidelines on the formation of professionalism in the aviation sector. This will enable future pilots to be trained at a higher level and develop personal and professional skills which are needed today's competitive specialist. The article contains the basic features of the educational process in the United States and focuses on the innovative teaching methods and new approaches to traditional methods and learning. We identified the main approaches to training pilots, in particular the use of independent work, practical training, student-centered approach, development of critical thinking skills. It is important to form the unity of theory and practice in aviation, renew content and teaching methods, to ensure the partnership between the educational and industrial areas. So, adoption positive experience of the US, with its adaptation to the realities of our country, makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of the national system for training civil aviation pilots and avoid many mistakes during reforming period. In this context, studying the experience of the United States in the field of professional training pilots may be very useful for Ukraine. Therefore, the implementation of directions, suggested by the author, in the educational process of Ukrainian flight universities will improve the professional training of future pilots.
