POLITICAL TERM’S PRAGMATIC COLORING
Journal Title: Записки з українського мовознавства - Year 2016, Vol 0, Issue 23
Abstract
Socio-political terminology in the Ukrainian linguistics has been studied quite actively (A.Buryachok, T.Panko, O.Serbenska, M.Leonova, O.Novostavska) in the mainstream of the formal-semiotic paradigm, that is based on the actual linguistic methodology and exclusively innerlinguistic methods. The methodological basis of the lingual-cognitological analysis of the conceptual notions is the triad « culture – consciousness – language». Expanding the research paradigm – from linguocentric (structural) to the anthropocentric (ethnocentric) – allowed the expansion of the newest (discursive) nature of the term-politonim, its value, features and functions in a real communicative process. It also enabled to see not only a lingual but an ideological and cultural coding system in the political terminology. In fact, the latter stimulates the emergence of the triune pragmatic (connotative, implicative, emotional) meaning in a political term. Appealing to the national lingual personality (person, people) as the engine of the cognitive-cultural progress will enable us to trace the interaction of the lingual and hidden structures of thinking that can be reconstructed by the pragmatic communicative meanings. That is why the combination of the principles of the logicocentrism, systemcentrism – on the one hand and anthropocentrism (ethnocentrism, egocentrism) – on the other hand will allow to discover the syncretic nature of the political term. The purpose of the scientific exploration is to reveal a pattern of the occurrence of the pragmatic colouring in the semantics of the term-politonim as the result of the interaction of the cognitive structures (psychologically real meaning), communicative structures (the pragmatic significance of the speaker) and lingual (system value).
