PRACTICAL WORK OF AZERBAIJANI INTELLIGENTSIA ON CREATION OF TEXTBOOKS IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX – THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURIES

Abstract
In the second half of the XIX – early XX century the Azerbaijani national intellectuals actively fought for the creation of textbooks in the native language. They carried out the necessary work, both in theory and in practice. The article outlines the practical steps that our educators have made in this regard. The outstanding people who were working on the textbooks were: M.Sh. Vazeh, I. Grigoriev, S.A. Shirvani, A.O. Chernyaevsky, S. Velibekov, R. Efendiyev, M. Mahmudbekov, A. Shaig, A. Sahhat, F. Agazade, M. Gamarlinsky, and others. These people were focused on the preparation and distribution of textbooks in the native language. The article provides a brief analysis of the process of preparing the contents of these textbooks and their structure.
