Radioembolization in the Treatment of Neuroendocrine Tumors

Journal Title: Nükleer Tıp Seminerleri - Year 2019, Vol 5, Issue 2

Abstract

Presence of liver metastases in a neuroendocrine tumor (NET) patient determines survival. Although surgical resection is accepted as a curative treatment modality, the multifocal and disseminated nature of hepatic metastases in NET patients does not allow this modality to be used often. There is no consensus for the convenient choice of treatment for inoperable hepatic metastases in NET patients. In this review, usage of radioembolization in NET patients with hepatic metastases is discussed along with other local and systemic therapy modalities.
