Regional aspects of the medical and health tourism development in the context of economic modernization

Abstract
Annotation. The purpose of the article is to study the natural resource base, modern trends and problems of development of health-improving tourism in Poltava region and revealing the main factors that restrain it. Methodology of research. The solution of the tasks set in the article is carried out with the help of general scientific methods of research, namely: analysis, systematization and generalization. Findings. It was revealed that health-improving tourism has peculiarities of development in different regions, due to natural geographical location, climatic conditions, infrastructure differentiation, etc. Poltava region refers to those regions of Ukraine, which have a powerful therapeutic and recreational resource potential. Sources of mineral water, medicinal mud, the famous Poltava bishofit, phytoncidic properties of forests, combined with rich historical and cultural heritage and attractive landscape diversity are the main factors in the development of tourism in region and attraction not only domestic but also foreign tourists. Practical value. Research of natural resource base in Poltava region testifies to the negative tendencies of the development of tourism enterprises and health-improving tourism in the region, in particular, a number of problems were identified, the solution of which is determined by the need to develop and implement an effective mechanism of public-private partnership.
