REPRODUCTION OF THE IMAGERY OF ADDRESS FORMS (AS BASED ON TARAS SHEVCHENKO’S “THE NEOPHYTES” AND ITS ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS)

Abstract
The article discusses the functions of terms of address in a poetic work. Address forms are analyzed as condensed images which contain encoded characteristics of the addressee. Difficulties in reproduction of addresses in artistic translation have been analyzed on the basis of T. Shevchenko’s philosophical poem “The Neophytes” and its three English translations.
