Research of the effi ciency of vibroacoustic treatment method for the complex therapy for patients with prostate gland hyperplasia
Journal Title: Complementary & Alternative Medicine in Science - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Background. The aim of this study was to confi rm the effi cacy of vibroacoustic therapy in patients with benign prostate gland hyperplasia (BHPG). Material and methods. 30 men (49-78 yrs) treated for BHPG were enrolled in the study. The treatment approaches for patients with BHPG, involving vibroacoustic therapy, administration of cardura (doxazosin mesylate) and transurethral resection (TUR) were examined and compared. Results. It was found that vibroacoustic method improved urination for 3-6 months and when the patients underwent TUR prior to the treatment, vibro- acoustic (VA) therapy reduced their post-surgery irritation. Conclusions. Vibroacoustic eff ect at the range of 30-18000 Hz with amplitude of 12.3 microns reduced the clinical display of BHPG and improved the objective parameters characterizing urination. Further investigations are needed to elucidate the role of the vibroacoustic therapy in BHPG treatment.
