Research progress on the regulation of light on plant polyphenol metabolism
Journal Title: Journal of Henan Agricultural University - Year 2022, Vol 56, Issue 3
Abstract
Polyphenols are important secondary metabolite in plant. They are not only important functional component related to plant stress defense, but also have complex structure, variety and physiological activities, and are widely used in agriculture, food, leather industry and so on. Light is one of the main factors affecting the content of polyphenols in plants. Different light conditions induce the changes of the synthesis and metabolism level of polyphenols in plants. This paper mainly expounds the research progress of light quality, light intensity and photoperiod on the regulation of plant polyphenol metabolism, in order to provide reference for the regulation of polyphenol secondary metabolism pathway.
