Abstract

The theoretical approaches to the definition of the investment potential of the national economy was investigated in the article and its role in the processes of economic growth and ensuring food security was established. A retrospective analysis of the investment provision of agriculture as a determinant of food security has been carried out, modern problems of investment attractiveness of agrarian business and directions of its increase have been identified. The key functions of the state in ensuring food security and ways of their improvement using the investment resource are established. It has been proved that the key resource of economic growth and solving problems of implementation of food security functions is investments, the successful use of which will create a multiplier effect in the development of all sectors of the economy, which in turn will contribute to the growth of citizens' incomes, improvement of the balance of payments and infrastructure development. Key words: investments, investment potential, agro-industrial complex, food safety.
