ROLE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BODIES FUNCTIONING

Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of the institute of public relation in the context of local governments and their functional features and possibilities of using experience leading public relations. Also emphasizes that the main focus of the operation of local government is to create a unified information system, equipment and tools, which will create favorable conditions for information resources, simplify the collection, processing and use information to make the interests of the community, improving the economic situation and the development of new technologies, improving the socio-economic status, productivity growth and spiritual develop-ment. It is noted that the forward and backward linkages between local government and the community are interrelated and interde-pendent, they should be together. When making decisions, local authorities should take into account public opinion and to adequate-ly assess and make projections for the public reaction if the situation changes and actions of central and local authorities. It should also be noted that in Ukraine, where a long time purposefully misinformed population is quite difficult to create reliable information basis for improving relationships local authorities and local communities. Thus, the fulfillment of some political parties, politicians, local authorities or business journalists at the same time speak out against others. Such actions deepened distrust of the local community to individual officials and authorities in general. In such circumstances, local governments quite vulnerable. Public relations or public relations make a significant contribution to the modernization of the management of local issues and functioning of local government. It is worth noting that aspect that the institution of public feedback successfully serves as a tool for obtaining and maintaining power, or at least a certain political influence
