SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO SOLVING PROBLEMS FROM THE PRACTICE THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF MICROBIOLOGY AND PCR METHODS

Abstract

Several scientific problems have been developed with close practical focus for assessing of the microbiological risk in order to protect human health and prevent the spread of disease. The test samples taken are collected from the bottled water, various food groups, sewage sludge wastewater, using contemporary standardized methods and indicators laid down in national and European regulations have been analyzed. The main task is through the conducted microbiological analyses to formulate clear conclusions about the quality of the investigated objects, identification of critical points in their production and prevention among end consumers - the people. Based on the results: - the main contaminants and their ways of entry into finished products of bottled water and foods have been found; - a PCRmethod has been approbated which is important for the identification of Shiga toxin producing E.coli; - a method of treating sewage sludge has been developed in order to achieve better microbiological characteristics for a shorter period of time and to accelerate their use as soil improvers.
