Seasonal Evaluation of the Amount of Zn in Serum of Fluffy Goats

Journal Title: Journal of Animal Science Advances - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 1

Abstract

This research was taken in order to assess the grade of the zinc (Zn) in serum and determining its seasonal variation among Raeini goats. Male and female goats (n = 24) from three herds and in the different state farm (station, migratory and resident) were selected. Sampling from serum of the goats, feed intake and ground soil were repeated in different seasons. Mean zinc concentration over my head male and female goats was equivalent to 0.83± 0.07 and 0.70 ± 0.004mg per kg (P <0.05) respectively. Zinc concentration (Zn) in serum of the female goat from 1year to above 1. 5 year, was equal to the equivalent of 0.70 ± 0.004 and 0.77 ± 0.07 mg per kilogram respectively. Mean zinc concentration goat serum in different seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter was 1.12 ± 0.06, 0.74 ± 0.06, 0.76 ± 0.06 and 0.53 ± 0.06 mg/ kg respectively, which had significant difference. Zinc amount of food on hand with pasture grass (27.78 ± 2.15and 35. 08 ± 2.9 mg/kg) was different and in fall (35.2 ± 3.1) over spring, summer and winter respectively (27. 9 ± 4. 4, 23. 8 ± 3. 1 and18. 5 ± 4. 4 mg/kg. the amount of soil in the fall (1. 29 ± 0. 3 mg/kg) less than the summer winter and spring, respectively 2. 73 ± 0. 4, 2. 41 ± 0 . 4 and 2. 36± 0. 4 mg/kg). Surface waters have much zinc than the depth water and were equal to (0.15 and 0.1 mg/l). In this study it was found that amount of soil zinc, fodder and serum in comparison with other factors that will be discussed more under the influence of different seasons.
