SOCIAL AND PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS OF JUNIOR STUDENTS’ SOCIAL ADAPTATION TO INDEPENDENT LIFE IN CONDITIONS OF BOARDING INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Introduction. Modern psychological and pedagogical literature gives grounds to state that the concept of “pedagogical condition” should be defined as a factor in the educational process, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of education and upbringing. In view of this, the study of changes, which characterize the process of social adaptation, as well as the definition of specific socio-pedagogical conditions that determine the specifics of junior students’ social adaptation to independent living in boarding institutions, becomes particularly relevant.Analysis of publications. Significant contribution to the study of the socio-pedagogical conditions of social adaptation is made by scientists O. Gur, M. Zvereva, A. Meshchaninov, S. Kharchenko and others.Purpose of the article is to reveal the socio-pedagogical conditions of junior students’ social adaptation to independent living in boarding institutions. The scientific and theoretical substantiation of social and pedagogical conditions of junior school pupils’ social adaptation of comprehensive boarding schools must begin with the definition of the essence of the concept “condition”. The “condition” in the philosophical encyclopedic dictionary is defined as the one which permits and makes possible the presence of a thing, an object, a state, and a process. Also, according to the philosophical encyclopedic dictionary, the condition is something that depends on something else, a significant component of the complex of objects, their state, interactions, and the presence of which necessarily implies the existence of a certain phenomenon. In pedagogical studies, “pedagogical conditions” are defined as: - a set of objective possibilities, content, forms, methods, pedagogical techniques and material-spatial environment, aimed at solving the problems posed in the study;- a set of interdependent and mutually determined circumstances of the process of activity;- the external circumstance, a factor that significantly influences the course of the pedagogical process is deliberately constructed by a teacher so that intentionally provides, but does not guarantee a certain result of the process.- regulations of the normative nature, focused on changes in the pedagogical reality and, thus, for obtaining new pedagogical knowledge about it, on the development of this knowledge;- expression of the relation of the object to the phenomena that surround it and without which it cannot exist. The author identifies the following socio-pedagogical conditions for the process of junior students’ social adaptation at boarding schools: - modernization of the content of social and educational work on social adaptation to the junior students’ independent life of comprehensive boarding schools - the use of interactive technologies in social pedagogical work on junior students’ social adaptation to independent life at boarding schools; - fairy-tale therapy as a method of social and pedagogical work on social adaptation to junior students’ independent life at boarding schools. Social-educational work with students in the conditions of the boarding school is an integral part of the action of the social-pedagogical system. Developing the ways of introducing the socio-pedagogical conditions of junior students’ social adaptation into the socio-educational work at boarding schools, the author proceeds from the following considerations:1. The process of modernization is considered as an upgrade that involves the introduction of the signs of modernity in society. 2. An integral part of the overall process of modernizing society is the modernization of the education content. 3. The main characteristic of the student's personality is its integrity, and therefore the prerequisite for junior students’ successful social adaptation to the independent life at boarding schools is not simply a combination of certain content areas of social and educational activity, but the development of a set of social skills (competencies) the most adequate to the needs of the social environment. So defined social and pedagogical conditions ensure junior students’ social adaptation at boarding schools and contents of experiment program is given, concerning the implementation of the conditions in social and pedagogical work at boarding schools.
