Social Vector in the Economic Development of the State: Genesis of Models and Conceptions

Abstract
The article is aimed at studying the theoretical-methodological foundations of economic and social development as well as substantiation of interrelationship of economic development and the quality of the population's standard of living. The essence of the notion of «development» has been disclosed, scientific approaches by different authors to the definition of «economic development» has been provided. Differences between the categories of «economic growth» and «economic development» have been allocated. Models of economic development, which are divided in accordance with the main currents of economic thought on the Keynesian, neoclassical, institutional and new endogenous, have been explored. It has been found that the main determinants of economic development are human capital and accumulation of knowledge. It has been specified that as the priority factors of socio-economic development act the improvement of quality of the population's standard of living together with the possibility of meeting the needs of all members of society. It has been concluded that the effective functioning of the social complex provides formation of human capacity, which, in turn, will ensure the development of economy as a whole.
