SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES OFFERED BY CONSTANȚA MARITIME UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The potential for development of Constanta Maritime University is substantially modified and augmented by the fact that some of University students will follow the cadets’ stage. Majors assignments indicate that a considerable number of current students of Constanta Maritime University are receiving cadets’ training, university being perhaps the only educational area where government financing resources find their correspondent financial output; funded students of the university are resending financial resources in the local and national economy. This approach aims to constitute an impact assessment and a strategic review on the future of higher education in the marine studies within Maritime University in Constanta. The research instrument contains a number of 8 items, varying in terms of typology, constructed to investigate interest, opportunity, reasons and difficulties pursuing a career in shipping, port and management administration. Information was collected from students or graduates from others universities than Constanta Maritime University. Analysis was conducted on high school students, students or graduates of other universities excepting Constanta Maritime University, drawn randomly from the population, but without talking about a proper sampling.
