Stylistic features of oxymoron syntagms in poetry in early XXI century

Abstract
The article deals with an actual an interesting problem of modern linguostilistics, study of oxymorons which are based on antonymic lexems. Modern linguopoetics extends the range of the studied linguistic mechanisms for creating artistic and emotional imagery and diversity of the poetic vocabulary. These language mechanisms include oxymoron syntagmas constructed on the contrast as a form of artistic representation of reality. The poetic language actualizes the tokens with contrasted semantics which operate in different structures of oxymoron sintagmas, individualize and compositionally and stylistically equalize a poetry text. The analysis of oxymoron syntagmas in poetry texts of XXIst century shows that the characters with the abstract lexicon (renewed through semantic interaction with people’s colloquial terms, folk and poetic images) acquire the greatest artistic and aesthetic value. The research found out that oxymoron syntagmas expressiveness in poetry texts during investigated intervals is caused by grammatical means and occurs during non-standard, unusual use of syntax models by the author. Oxymoron is a means of formation and development of the lexical elements for the vocabulary, it serves as an important figure in stylistic design of poetry text architectonics, accumulating creative and educational possibilities of the language. In the poetic vocabulary of XXIst century oxymoron syntagmas perform different semantic and stylistic functions: a) depict the contrasts in mental state of a person; b) emphasize contradictory nature of the depicted objects and events; c) strengthen ironic attitude towards the depicted things; d) express the author’s attitude. The perspective of the further research is to study oxymoron syntagms in the poetry of other authors.
