TAGES OF DEVELOPMENT OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN AZERBAIJAN AND THEIR CURRENT STATE

Abstract
Over the past 10 years, the Republic of Azerbaijan has made significant progress in the economic sphere and ranked among the developed world countries. Along with this, much has been achieved in Azerbaijan in the direction of building a civil society. Given that one of the criteria that lead to a strong state is civil society. Azerbaijan pays great attention to the development of this area, has formed specific mechanisms for state support of civil society institutions, the media, has adopted a “National Program of Action” to strengthen the protection of human rights and has implemented legislative reforms to finance political parties from the state budget. One of the most important steps aimed at supporting and developing civil society in Azerbaijan is the formation of the socio-economic and financial base of non-governmental organizations – the leading elements of civil society. On July 27, 2007, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Concept of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations was approved.
