TEACHERS’ OPINIONS REGARDING PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PIANO TEXTBOOK FOR THE 9TH GRADE OF FINE ARTS HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the piano textbook for the 9th grade of Fine Arts High School (FAHS) in accordance with teachers’ opinions on its physical characteristics. The study is a descriptive area study. Related data were collected through a survey developed by the researchers based on the analyzing criteria of the subject area textbook and containing physical design criteria. The sampling of the study consists of 73 randomly selected piano teachers from 25 FAHSs providing education in Turkey. According to the study results, it was concluded that 9th-grade piano teachers of FAHS found the cover of the stated book to be largely satisfactory in terms of cardboard quality, the size of the stated book to be largely satisfactory in terms of the ease of use, the cover of the stated book to be moderately satisfactory in terms of being compelling, the usage of wire spiral to be largely satisfactory in terms of the ease of use, printing to be moderately satisfactory in terms of the long-term use, and “Let’s get to know our book” chapter to be moderately satisfactory in terms of the book introduction.
