Abstract
N.G. Goncharenko Theoretical and methodological issues of determining the level of labor productivity. The article summarizes theoretical and methodological issues of determining the productivity of labour. It is indicated on the decisive influence of the theory of labour value in determining the productivity of labour. Different methodological approaches to its definition are analyzed, which are based on the costs of living and settled labour. The difference between productivity and labour efficiency is specified. The current level of labour productivity in Ukraine is analyzed and the most productive countries are defined. Under current conditions, the efficiency of labour using is one of the most important economic indicators, which characterizes the essence and effectiveness of production processes. In improving the economic mechanism of management, which is one of the most important tasks of modern economic policy, it is of great practical significance to correctly determine the level of efficiency of resource potential as a whole and its components: labour, land, capital. In this regard, it is necessary to emphasize once again the growing relevance of further researches of methodological and practical issues in determining the level, factors and reserves of labour productivity. Labour productivity was and will be one of the main indicators those determine the innovative process of society, characterizing the situation of the state, a specific industry, an each enterprise. The current level of labour productivity in Ukraine doesn’t correspond to the available natural and logistical resources, to modern requirements. With the most favourable opportunities for effective economic management, even in the best years the level of gross domestic product per capita in Ukraine was considerably inferior to other developed countries.
