Teoretyczne i metodologiczne aspekty badań nad procesami medykalizacji – zarys problematyki

Abstract
Medicalization in Poland is still a quite new and unexplored field, but is gaining popularity among medical sociology researchers. The sciences of medicine and sociology are in agreement that the process of medicalization is taking place, but each of them defines it differently. The science of medicine treats it as something natural and even desired, while medical sociology often underlines negative aspects and explores the dangers of over-medicalization. As one of first Polish texts on medicalization, this paper offers an outline of the main theoretical and methodological dilemmas which a researcher must address when undertaking research on the medicalization processes.
