The adoption of the Jackson-Vanic amendment as a reaction against the prohibition of the emigration of the Jews from USSR

Abstract
In this article are analyzed the reasons and consequences adopting by USA Congress the Jackson-Vanik amendment which appeared as a reaction to acts the world public and Jewish organizations protests for permission to leave the Soviet Jews. The article is about domestic and foreign political factors, which became the catalyst for the beginning of Zionist movement in the USSR. It’s describes the unsuccessful attempts to fight for the right of Soviet Jews to emigrate to their historic homeland and the USA.
