THE ASSESSMENT OF PHOSPHORUS MANAGEMENT IN THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION PROCESS AT THE NUTS-0, NUTS-2 LEVELS
Journal Title: Roczniki Naukowe Stowarzyszenia Ekonomistów Rolnictwa i Agrobiznesu - Year 2016, Vol 18, Issue 1
Abstract
The aim of the study was the assessment of phosphorus management in Poland, at national (NUTS-0) and governor (NUTS-2) levels. The phosphorus management efficiency was evaluated on the basis of gross phosphorus balance in relation to its calculated optimum (OPGB). The study was conducted between 2012 and 2014, on the background of the comparative period of 2002-2004. Annual growth rate of phosphorus consumption in mineral fertilizers is currently approx. 0.9 kg of P2O5/ha UAA, and is in line with the long-term trend. The gross phosphorus balance in Poland was in recent years in Poland at 2.5 kg P/ha UAA level and it was higher than optimal by 1.4 kg. In many regions of Poland the amount of applied phosphorus fertilizers are not justified by plant yield, or does not include the agrochemical state of soil, with various consequences.
