The Impact of Auditor firm Tenure on Cost of Capital in Tehran Stock Exchange

Abstract
The present study investigates the effect of audit tenure on the cost of capital. It aims to study the effect of audit tenure on the cost of capital in companies listed in Tehran Stock Exchange including the data related to 130 companies during the time period of 2006 to 2011. The present research is a correlation survey and is based on Panel (Data) Analysis. The Fixed Effect method was selected using Lymer's F test and Hausman's test from among the three methods of Common effects, dixed effects and Random Effects methods. The results of the experimental research hypothesis indicated the negative effect of audit tenure on cost of capital. That is, if the audit tenure is increased, the cost of capital will decrease. The findings indicated that there was a negative and significant relationship between the audit tenure and cost of capital.
