In this article examines the place of the South-Eastern regions of Ukraine in the system of German eхpansionist plans in Eastern Eurrope «Drang nach Osten» since the German Empire until the collapse of the Third Reich. If in the late 19th to the early 20th century regarding the administration of Germany to the future status the South-East of Ukraine is eхpressed at the level of various geopolitical theories, on the eve of the Second World War, their future is quite clearly regulated beside approved of the Nazi plans. Pay attention to the fact that in the eyes of the ruling circles of the German Second Reich, the future political and administrative status Ukrainian South-East of the territory was uncertain and dependend on the international and military situation. In contrast, in 30-40 years of the 20th century, the Nazi leadership considered the South-Eastern regions of Ukraine as part of its «living space» in the East.
