THE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE ABSENCE OF EQUIVALENCE IN THE TRANSLATION PROCESS

Abstract
This article discusses translation issues arising from the lack of equivalence at the word level between languages, particularly when the meaning of a word in the source language cannot be directly expressed in the target language. It explores various types of non-equivalence, such as culturally specific concepts, complex semantic words, and lexical gaps, and offers strategies used by professional translators to address these challenges
