THE ROLE OF NATIONAL PARLIAMENTS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION MEMBER STATES IN ENSURING THE PRINCIPLE OF SUBSIDIARITY IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EU INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
The following article analyzes the concept, substance and nature of Principle of Subsidiarity in the European Union activity. It provides a basic overview of EU regulatory framework and international acts on this issue. Special attention is paid to new mechanisms of national parliaments control over the observance of the principle of subsidiarity in the EU institutions’ activities, which was provided by Lisbon Treaty.
