THE STUDY OF FORMALIZATION AND DEFORMED STATE OF STEP BLANKS DURING THE ENLARGING BY PROFILED DIE

Abstract

Purpose. To establish the regularities of the shape change and the deformed state of stepped hollow forgings during enlarging. Methodology. Modeling the skidding process has been performed using the finite element method in the DEFORM 3D program. Experiments have been conducted in laboratory conditions on lead models using BLELL K-G hydraulic press with a nominal effort of 100 kN. Results. Simultaneous deformation of the protrusion and the ledge leads to the conical forging. Taper on the side of the ledge occurs at the initial stage of rolling and during the whole process it increases. The emergence of a conical shape has been explained by the fact that during slipping, with the same absolute deformation (stroke), the ledge gets more accumulated deformation through a more precise wall. Practi- cal value. Increasing energy consumption in the world requires improvement of NPP constructions. The main responsi- ble unit of the NPP is the reactor block frame. The design of the reactor block frame has been improved by reducing the connecting elements and manufacturing complex profiled parts to increase the life of the reactor block frame. The lit- erature analysis made it possible to establish there is already a sufficient amount of development and industrial testing of the enlarging of profiled forgings.
