The Using Of New Media And Social Network Sites In The Local Press: A Study On The Internet Sites Of Newspapers Published In Kocaeli

Abstract
The use of social networking sites began to gain importance as an alternative against the newspaper and television reporters and the news agencies for creating the news content in today’s media. Users who are members of these sites contribute the content through using multi-media contents such as news, photos and video formats and the professional media organizations constitute their social networking sites as well. In this context the three newspaper’s Internet homepages selected from the Local Press of Kocaeli, were examined in terms of interactivity and multimedia.
