Abstract
In the article an attempt is made to analyze tendencies and contradictions in the professional training and activities of teachers of specialized classes in Europe; describe the main trends in the development of teacher education; identify internal and external problems; to analyze the standards of vocational training of teachers of specialized classes; determine the basic competencies that the teacher of the profile school must master in the process of continuous professional education.
