University Students’ Orientations Towards The Presidency of Religious Affairs Services: İnönü University Sample.

Abstract
The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) is official institutions offering religious services and religious education in Turkey. Diyanet as a state institution, unlike other religious group, doesn’t require membership, commitment and affiliation. Therefore orientation towards its services is more related to confidence and satisfaction. Thus it is important to determine scientifically confidence and satisfaction levels to Diyanet in different samples, due to contribute to its services plan. This study investigated university students’ orientations towards Diyanet services. Measurement instruments of this survey were carried out among 302 students in five faculty in the University of İnönü. The study was designed based on comparative associative model. Measurement tool used is called “Orientations Towards The Presidency of Religious Affairs Services” developed by Onay (2004). As a result of this study, it was found that, university students’ orientations towards Diyanet services are differed with regard to gender, faculty, the basis of educational backgrounds and the status religious education outsite school system.
