ВМОТИВОВАНІСТЬ ТЕРМІНІВ ТА ЗАГАЛЬНОВЖИВАНИХ СЛІВ ЯК ВАЖЛИВИЙ АСПЕКТ ПЕРЕКЛАДОЗНАВСТВА

Abstract
Стаття присвячена дослідженню термінів та загальновживаних слів на прикладі англійської мови. Розглянуто питання вмотивованості термінів та загальновживаних слів, що відіграють важливу роль під час перекладу з англійської мови на українську. Проаналізовано зв’язок термінологічної лексики із загальновживаною. Наведено приклади дефініцій загальновживаних слів та їхню термінологізацію. Запропонований лінгвістичний критерій виявлення термінологічного значення сприяє розширенню меж термінології й інших сфер науки. The increase of requirements to the specialists’ training demands the creation of a new standard program of the aspect «Practice of Translation» for students-philologists of the foreign language department. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of translation of commonly used words and their terminologisation in the process of teaching interpreting. The goal of the research is to examine certain words and terms taking into account lexical and connotative meanings; to analyze difficulties of translating technical terms from English into the student’s native language; to give definitions to commonly used words and analyze them as terms. Translation of any technical text is carried out step by step. At the first stage difficult terms and word combinations are taken into account and analyzed in details in terms of their motivation. The second stage includes the following scheme of translation: «word – word combination – sentence – text.» At the final stage correct translation is given. Such approach to the process of translation allows to provide progressive formation and development of foreign students-philologists’ translation skills. Taking into consideration word meaning, we can state that it takes different forms and variations. It does not matter what different meanings words have, their basis have the same sense. Scientific interpretation of words refers to them as terms. Terms with inside structure show the direction of their interpretation. In specific contexts words and compound words are given specific meanings – these may deviate from the meanings the same words have in other contexts and in everyday language. Connotative meaning is a suggested meaning by a word apart from the thing it explicitly names or describes. Furthermore, the given article deals with possibilities of words’ transformations. The examples of commonly used words, their definitions and transformations have been presented in this work. Proposed linguistics criteria of terminological meaning help to widen terminology of the field of science. Available resources and good evaluation of potential solutions are useful for making lexical and terminological decisions. The results obtained and the achieved conclusions in the course of the author’s research have contributed to achieving the main objectives and goals of the article.
